“He Was Different”

It’s an undeniable fact that we British are most often cast as the main villain, and it seems an unfortunate fact that today we’ve lost one of the great ones. One whose acting ability was quite perfectly matched with his more than impressive vocal chords. Now he has moved onwards to join other such fine actors and friends as Peter Cushing, Vincent Price and Peter O’Toole. (I can only imagine that the narrations and monologues in the Afterlife must be utterly fantastic.)

May you sleep well, Dracula/Scaramanga/Saruman/Dooku/Jabberwocky and all the others. Your days of villainy may be over, but like all famous antagonists, your legacy will carry on.

To Mr Christopher Lee.
